Iron Director Contest
Can you make a Science Fiction, Horror and/or Fantasy movie in two days?
The Rules
- Sign-in begins when the movie room opens on Friday. Sign-in ends at exactly noon on Saturday.
- All entries must be no longer than 10 minutes in length, including titles and credits.
- All entries MUST be submitted by midnight Saturday night, and must be submitted in a format that can be played by the movie room equipment. Acceptable formats are DVD, MPG, AVI, OGG, MOV and MKV. Most codecs are accepted. If you are unsure, please submit a sample for the movie room to experiment on so that we can determine if there will be any difficulties. All movies must be viewable by a mixed audience. If you wouldn't show it to your Mom, we may not show it at ApolloCon.
- Judging will be held in the Movie Room on Sunday morning from 8am until all the movies have been watched. (8-10 being blocked out for it).
- All footage must be created during ApolloCon (no stock footage!)
- All "actors" (including voice actors), must be attendees at ApolloCon.
- No filming unwilling or unaware individuals. All individuals appearing in your films must be knowledgeable, aware and consenting to appear in your film.
- All production and post-production work must also occur at ApolloCon (somewhere in the hotel is fine). All movies will be of a science fiction, horror or fantasy theme.
- Props and scripts may be brought to the conference for use in the production.
- Certain areas are off-limits - do not film there. This includes panels. A map will be provided at registration of areas that are off limits.
